Day 76: Humans of UJA – Aaron Savatti
As part of our Centennial Campaign year, we are spending some time spotlighting donors in our community. Check back every Saturday night after Shabbat ends to see who we are profiling. Meet Aaron Savatti.
Who are you?
I am Aaron Savatti, 26 years old, born and raised in Toronto.
What do you do?
I currently own an energy consulting and sustainability planning firm. We specialize in creating energy efficiency plans for our clients and assist them in reducing their utility costs by increasing overall efficiency. We also provide high level sustainability planning which looks at energy being used, but also how all aspects of a business, including employees, procurement, sales, and consumption impact their overall sustainability levels. We work closely with our clients to provide a roadmap to the future that is good for business and the planet.
What is important about being Jewish in Toronto?
What’s important about being Jewish in Toronto is pride, ownership, and inclusivity. I truly believe that being Jewish in Toronto is about not only supporting those within our community, but taking ownership and being involved in the larger social and economic communities in which we live.
Why is it important to make a gift to the community through UJA?
Odds are the majority of those within the Jewish community of Toronto have benefited one way or another through a gift made to UJA. The network supported by UJA is so far reaching and broad that a gift will be able to help an individual in any segment of community and any walk of life.
